What we got wrong, and when we fixed it.

Auspice is written and computed by one person, and one person gets things wrong. This page is the whole log — every factual, computational, or convention correction, with the original wording kept so you can see what changed. Nothing is quietly edited away.
What counts as a correction
- Factual — a quotation, dynasty, author, term attribution, or number that was wrong.
- Computational — a chart rule, true-solar-time conversion, or luck-cycle start that produced a wrong result. If your own chart is affected, we say so.
- Convention — we changed which school’s rule we follow. Not an error, but conclusions drawn from the old text may shift.
Typos, styling, and pure rewording are not logged — a correction log padded with typo fixes hides the real ones.
How a correction is handled
- The page is fixed, and the entry is added here with the original wording quoted.
- The page that was wrong shows the entry in its own footer — you do not have to come here to find it.
- That page’s dateModified moves to the correction date. Dates on this site only move when something actually changed.
- If you reported it, you are credited here unless you would rather not be.
Report an error
Email [email protected] with the page and what is wrong. A source helps but is not required — “this quotation isn’t in that book” is enough to make me go check. Replies come from the person who built this, within two business days.
Chart disputes are a different thing: the conventions we use are published at Method. A chart that differs from another site is usually a school difference, not a bug — but tell us anyway, and we will say which it is.
The log
No corrections logged yet. This page went up on 2026-08-05; an empty log means nothing has been found wrong since, not that nothing is being tracked. When the first one lands it appears here, dated.
