Where your effort actually lands
Why is this so hard for me?
Season · 1Some years the work moves and some years the same effort lands on nothing, and you start to suspect you have lost your touch. This strand is about a material being in two different states in two different seasons. The parameters are published, so you can recompute it yourself.
Why does this keep happening?
Loop · 2You have failed at the same thing three times now, and looking back, every single step of it was the right call at the time. This strand gives those loops their names. Once a loop has a name, you can catch it earlier the next time it starts turning.
Isn’t this just astrology?
Why · 5This strand is not about a mechanism in the chart. It argues why reading one does anything for a person at all, and its claims trace to published psychology with references on each page. These hold even if you think BaZi is nonsense.
How to read these
Read a page with one question open: can I say that is not me and be right? Keep saying it. “You are sometimes hard on yourself” fits everybody alive, so there is nothing there to refuse and nothing there to use. “You bought three courses and finished one” is the kind of sentence you can hold up against last year and check. The ones you cannot refuse are the ones worth taking home.
Then leave it alone for a week. A pattern named on a Tuesday afternoon means very little until you are standing inside it again — the same meeting, the same unanswered message, the third course you are about to buy. That is the moment the name either does something or does not, and either answer is worth having.
And where a page leans on a number — which month command your Day Master was born into, how the weights fall — you can go and check it. The parameters are published at the charting conventions, so the result is yours to recompute. Where a page leans on published research instead, the papers are listed at the bottom with their DOIs. Nothing here asks you to take our word for it.
What these pages will not do
They will not tell you what any particular year holds. They describe the shape of a pattern, not your timeline. And a name is not a cure — knowing what your loop is called will not stop it turning. What it does is smaller and more useful: it puts the thing at arm’s length, where you can look at it and say it out loud without it being a verdict on your character. We do not claim to change anyone’s fate or fortune, and we sell no remedies.
If you would rather start from the concepts than from the problem, the reading room covers them in order. To read any of this against your own chart, cast it free.
