A BaZi chart can be calculated consistently once its conventions are fixed. Not every school makes the same choices, so we state ours plainly. Xuanyuan interprets this structured chart; it does not alter its facts.
Birth time and place
We use the date, clock time, selected birthplace, time zone, and longitude you provide.
True solar time
When a time zone and longitude are available, Qingluan Xin applies true-solar-time correction by default. The chart shows the resulting correction.
Four Pillars
Year, month, day, and hour pillars are calculated with fixed calendar rules. The month pillar follows solar terms rather than lunar-month labels.
Late Zi hour
For 23:00–24:00, Qingluan Xin uses the same-day convention (sect 2). Other schools may assign the day pillar differently.
Luck cycles
Ten-year luck cycles use the app’s current gender-based direction convention. This is a traditional charting convention, not a statement about identity.
Interpretation
Element balance and favourable elements are heuristic Zi Ping interpretations. They are prompts for reflection, not singular facts or guaranteed predictions.
